The HUB

Da HUB link
This is what you'll need to keep a close eye on, as in check daily. Word around the campfire is that almost all, or all your teachers will be using this routinely to provide you with:
  • Any announcements about the class.
  • Assignments and a place where you will probably complete and submit those assignments.
  • Access to online textbooks and/or readings & "handouts" from me.
  • Access to digital resources from you teacher (like a handout in the old world.
  • Reminders about what's coming up (see the page on managing your time).
  • Feedback on your completed assignments.

Well, maybe I won't always be that nice! (above ^)
New grade book this year. Yay! Just what you needed.
It really isn't too awful, I mean how many ways can you make a grade book work? This is where you go to:
  • Check how you did on an assignment. Duh!
  • The way I'm organized, you'll most likely see upcoming assignments there first (if you're the anxious type - no judgement, I get it).
  • Check out grade category weighting.
  • See a running total for your average going in to the next assignment.
  • Reassure mom that you are actually doing the work in school.

MS Teams

I'm more of a Zoom guy myself, but hey, Teams has a lot going for it. If your're not to sure, take a few minutes, go back and watch the video on the "Life Online" page. Totally worth your time.

A FEW ITEMS OF ETIQUETTE
  • Leave your mic muted unless you are called on to speak.
  • Leave you camera on - unless your room looks horrible or you need to pick your nose! You can change the background so nobody sees that pile of laundry - join a meeting, select the ellipses (...), select an image, and then select apply. Bam! But listen, really, do what makes you comfortable, just show up!
  • A couple of weeks after school starts you will be assigned to a breakout group (a channel in Teams). Don't whine, I'll make sure everything is fair.
