Hello! I'm gonna have a go at MQ1-

What factors contributed to economic globalization in the second half of the twentieth century?

- After the economic contraction in between WWI and WWII, the end of the Second World War brought about a truly globalized economy
- The capitalist victors of WWII were determined to avoid Depression-like conditions, and so, led by the US, established institutions such as the World Bank and the IMF
- Technological contributions led to the acceleration of the world economy
- New technology also provided for communication necessary for global interaction
- Population growth in developing countries (especially when linked to growing economies and modernizing societies), further enhanced the globalized economy
- The collapse of communism promoted unrestricted global capitalism

Please let me know if I missed anything!!

This looks good! I also added that major capitalist countries abandoned earlier political controls on economic activity, and that powerful international agencies such as the World Bank and the IMF imposed free markets on poor countries, as it was required in order to qualify for loans.

Not sure if this works but I also put that there was a new approach to economy known as neoliberalism that favored free global movement of capital

MQ2: In what ways has economic globalization more closely linked the world's peoples?
-world trade meant availability of goods from around the world
-foreign direct investment (think today's U.S. clothing companies producing from a factory in Bangladesh for lower cost)
-capital (playing the stock market)
-personal funds (ex: international credit cards)
-transnational corporations (ex: Mattel, Nike)
-accompanied by human migration (ex: labor migrants, refugees)

Congrats on finishing Strayer! Tell me if I'm missing anything :)

Here is my answer to MQ3. Please add!!
MQ3: What new or sharper divisions has economic globalization generated?
-Division between rich industrialized countries (Europe and North America) and everyone else
-Worsened the North/South gap- Division between rich Global North and developing Global South
-Growing gap between the rich and the poor- led to gaps in incomes, medical care, availability of clean drinking water, educational and employment opportunities, access to internet, etc.
-Disparities within the developing countries themselves- some states were rapidly industrializing while others were impoverished- this made common action difficult to achieve

I put the specific countries that Strayer says were divided, like the US having jobs shift away to other countries, the North portion of Mexico being more industrialized than the Southern part, and China's focus on cities instead of rural jobs.

Margin Question 4:
What distinguished feminism in the industrialized countries from that in the global south?

Industrialized countries:
(White middle-class women)
>advocated for job opportunities and education for women
>took a swing at patriarchy/moving away from it
>discussed sexuality
(Black women)
>stood with the family and men in the struggle against racism and poverty

Global South:
>opposed western feminism bc it was seen at too individualistic, too focused on sexuality, and insufficiently concerned with motherhood
>movements provided support for one another in times of need (marriage, mourning, etc)
>in Chile, women/feminist movements helped in the struggle against General Augusto Pinochet (feminist movements helped in larger political movements)

Welcome class of 2019. Some years students collaborate in this space effectively, some years not so much. One thing I know, collaboration significantly enhances learning. If you want access to my thoughts, this is the collaboration space to use. Most people propose an answer to margin questions, big picture question, or anything else related to managing Strayer. Other people can then comment leading to a stronger answer. I'll keep an eye on these pages, and pop in when I think you need me.
