Strayer Three makes for an engaging start. Most of these Classical empires are familiar to us through movies and pop culture. That's why they're called "classical"! I look forward to reading your posts and comments.

Hey guys, so I noticed that no one's used this, but a lot of people who have taken WHAP say that the forum here is great because you can ask everyone in the class questions, give study tips, etc., so yeah. Study tip that Christina taught me that's cool is to write down a word or region or spice them and then write everything that you need to know for it, and just keep writing it until you know it by heart. and she got a 100 on the regions so........good tip. bye

I agree, that's a good way to organize your studying.

This is what I have for question MQ.2:
-Silk marked high status of elite men and women in China.
-In China, silk got exchanged for horses and bought off barbarian invaders from the North.
-Silk offered comfort/value, so it became a fashions statement and heavily desired.
- It was used as a currency abd as means of accumulating wealth.
-In Byzantium, silk became a symbol of wealth and governments made it available to only the elite class.
-Silk was associated with the sacred in the expanding world religions of Buddhism and Christianity.
- In Buddhism, Chinese Buddhist pilgrims brought large quantities of silk in exchange for relics/religious texts. Buddhist monks were given purple silk robes from emperors= high honor.
-Christendom offered silk wall hangings, alter covers, and vestments= prestigious signs of devotion and piety.

This is all I have so if anyone would like to add or take away from this, please comment.

Oh also, I didn't know where to post this. I realize I'm posting in Chapter 3 with a question from chapter 7, but I didn't know where to go:)

Welcome class of 2020. Some years students collaborate in this space effectively, some years not so much. One thing I know, collaboration significantly enhances learning. If you want access to my thoughts, this is the collaboration space to use. Most people propose an answer to margin questions, big picture question, or anything else related to managing Strayer. Other people can then comment leading to a stronger answer. I'll keep an eye on these pages, and pop in when I think you need me.
