Considering our look at the role of Mobals in our review of de Blij's argument in The Power of Place, I thought this article might stimulate your thoughts. It's silly that they build electric fences to keep people out. Why don't they just have an open border policy?

Well, at least something reasonable in between. Fences have never worked, from the Great Wall of China to the Berlin Wall. As a nation we have to ask ourselves what role these people are needed for in our economy and society; and then enact legislation that meets everyone's needs.
